  During Juli’s stay as artist in residence in Kyoto she noticed many signs, symbols, pictograms, and logos. Some of them were new to her, some are also well-known in Central Europe.

The cat in the Yamato Transport logo reminded her much of the one on Katjes liquorice sweets. That sparked her idea to amalgamate Japanese and German signs and their names. The new signs seem spontaneously familiar but irritating on second glance.
